The Washington Quarter was first minted in 1932, and has remained in circulation ever since. Of course, the biggest difference between coins minted between 1932 and 1964 and coins minted nowadays is the fact that they used to be minted with 90 percent fine silver. For collectors, the silver content is not nearly as important as these coins’ historical significance. Having been minted through WWII, it goes without saying that Washington Quarters have played a pivotal role in the history of the United States.
