Struck in layers of copper-nickel bonded to an inner core of copper.

Obverse Design:  Depicts baby eaglets at about two or three days of age, settled in a nest with an unhatched egg.

Reverse Design:  Features the famous Bald Eagle "Challenger" with the American flag in the background.
