Lincoln Memorial Cents
The Lincoln cent (or sometimes called Lincoln penny) is a one-cent coin that has been struck by the United States Mint since 1909. To honor the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth, the Lincoln cent debuted. It depicted our nation’s 16th president on the obverse with the classic Wheat Ears reverse. The coin has seen several reverse, or tails, designs including the Memorial Building and now bears one depicting a Union shield.
